With Daniel Welser and Mike Siklenka back on board, but Matthias Trattnig still suspended and both Willi Lanz and Kelsey Wilson recovering from injury, the Red Bulls headed into the fourth semi-finals game of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga in Zagreb. And Zagreb immediately put the Red Bulls under pressure. The Croatians racked up several great shots on goal in the opening minutes, but Salzburg's goalie David LeNeveu held his own. The Red Bulls having put the kibosh on the home team's early offensive, Daniel Welser pulled out the first goal from nowhere. After seven minutes the Red Bulls were 1-0 up, the team having got into their stride and gained in confidence. Salzburg's Jonathan Filewich scored a power play goal in the 11th minute, marking something of a turning point in the game. But Zagreb hung in there, closing the gap with a well earned goal just two minutes later. The Croatians continued to push, the Red Bulls' defence attempting to control the puck but unable to avoid several close calls. Salzburg were ahead after the first 20 minutes, but Zagreb were on a roll, spurred on by a home crowd of some 7,000 spectators.
